NYX LIMITED makes Nyx AI available through the Microsoft Store. The Store delivers an unpackaged Win32 installer, so the Store does not update it for you — the app checks for its own updates instead, and you can turn that off.

Supported platform and prerequisites

  1. Windows 10 or 11 on x64 hardware, and an adult user aged 18 or over. Windows on ARM, macOS and Linux are not supported.
  2. A model provider: install Ollama separately and pull a model for local AI, or configure your own cloud-provider account. Nyx AI bundles no model or inference runtime; provider charges and terms may apply.
  3. Project runtimes such as Node.js, Python, Java or .NET are optional and task-dependent. They are not required just to install or use Chat.
  4. Internet is required for Store installation, update checks, cloud models, web features, integrations and components downloaded on first use. After the required setup, local model work can stay local when other network features and the default-on update check are disabled.
  5. Java itself compiles and runs. A system-installed Maven or Gradle is a known gap under the Sandbox levels: those builds stop with an access error, and Automatic does not fall back for them. Pick Standard isolation to run one.
